Tributes
Carmella Meconio, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky.
Carmella was born on June 15, 1931, to the late Giovanni and Carmela Meconio (née Greco). She was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School and went on to work as a typist and switchboard operator for General Electric. Carmella spent most of her adult life living in Cincinnati.
She loved to entertain and was known for hosting gatherings for friends and neighbors, always ensuring everyone felt at home. Impressively independent, Carmella lived on her own until about two years ago, when her niece, Sandy, lovingly began caring for her.
Above all, Carmella treasured her role in her family. She dearly loved being an aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, and great-great-great-aunt.
Carmella is preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Bene; her brother, Marco Meconio; her brother in law, Ray Bene; and her great nephew Stephen Hancock.
She is survived by 9 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and nephews, 20 great-great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
The family is encouraging funeral guests to wear their favorite Christmas sweaters, as Carmella loved getting to wear hers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky. A Catholic Blessing will take place at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at St. Stephen Cemetery.
