Betty Kathman

Betty Kathman, nee Armstrong, 88, formerly of Covington, Edgewood, and most recently Florence, passed away at a nursing home in Naperville, Illinois on Monday, October 25th following a four month illness.
She was a 1940 graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She raised three daughters, and later worked as the assistant to the buyer in the carpeting department at McAlpin’s Department Store in Cincinnati. She was the first woman president of the Cincinnati Floor Covering Association. She volunteered extensively at St Pius X Parish and School, and was president of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers there.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Philip in 2009, and her daughter, Judith Ann Kathman in 1969. She is survived by her daughters, Conni (Lane) Epstein of Lisle, IL and Susanne (Larry) Anderson of Lexington, KY, and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, November 1st from 10:00-11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, KY, with Mass of Christian Burial following immediately at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Veterans’ Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (Team Krazy for Kate), 11 S.
