Bertha Couch

Bertha Couch, 85, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, exactly 29 years (to the day) after her loving husband, Raleigh, passed.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Bertha was a longtime member of Belleview Baptist Church. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—reading, tending to her garden full of flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved good conversation about politics and could always be found sharing a thoughtful word or a laugh with those around her. Bertha also had a special place in her heart for her dog, Dexter, and she adored pugs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh Couch; her son, Raleigh “Bim” Couch; her daughter, Sharon Couch; and her granddaughter, Halie Guelfi. Bertha is survived by her children: Jim (Lisa) Couch, Larry (Cindy) Couch, and Dawn (Tom) Lilley; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boone County Animal Shelter, an organization close to Bertha’s heart. A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 24, from 3:00 – 5:00pm at Belleview Baptist Church. Online condolences can be left at www.LInemannFuneralHomes.com
