Bernard “Bernie” L. Lengerich

Bernard “Bernie” Lengerich, 81, of Burlington, KY, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur & Ruth, and siblings Bill Lengerich, Dick (late Ruth) Lengerich, Dori Braun, Geri Thomas and Lynn Woodyard.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Lengerich; children: Ronda (Michael) Russell, Greg (Denise) Lengerich and Lisa (Tim) Recker; grandchildren: Kayla (Melissa), Karah (Donnie), Kristen (Tennant), Tami, Sidney (Justin), Tyler (Natalie), Lexie, Jenna and Jake (Emily); great-grandchildren: Ashira, Aria, Sammie and Felix; sister, Judy (Don) Enginger; and in laws Judy Lengerich, Marlene Morgan, Paul Thomas, Dave and Betty Tolle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who he loved like his own.

After retirement, Bernie and De moved from Finneytown, OH, where they raised their children, to Hebron, KY. He spent his time fishing, mowing the lawn, tending to his garden, visiting with neighbors, boating with his kids and grandkids, and hollering at the Reds and Bengals. He made it 81 years without ever owning a cell phone, yet somehow managed to navigate everywhere he wanted to go. Their annual trips to Las Vegas were the highlight of his year despite the fact that he never did “dim the lights!”

Bernie’s faith was very important to him and lately was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 9:00 AM-10:30 AM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005 or the American Heart Association.
