Barbara A. Retherford (née Deaton), 78, of Villa Hills, Kentucky, passed away on March 1, 2025. She was born on April 24, 1946. Barbara dedicated her life to family and friends, creating joyful memories and spreading cheer, especially during the holiday season.

Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Known for her quick wit and sarcasm, Barbara brought humor and light into the lives of those around her.

Barbara had a deep love for her dogs, Stella and Emma, who predeceased her. She also cherished her close friendships with her co-workers from Booth, St. Luke, and St. Elizabeth Hospitals where she was a beloved colleague. She loved listening to music, playing sudoku and other word puzzles, and spent her days with the Hallmark channel, watching Christmas movies that always put a smile on her face.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Walter Deaton, her mother, Pearl (née Gillespie), her brother, Gary Deaton, and her beloved husband, Dennis Retherford. She is survived by her son, Chris (Rachel) Retherford, her sister, Connie (Steve) Powell, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, Kentucky from 10:00am until 12:00pm with a service at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Richwood Presbyterian Cemetery in Walton, KY.
