Rest in Eternal Peace

May you rest in eternal peace Anne

RIP

May you rest in peace Anne Marie. My sympathies are with your family and friends. Have served a tour in Korea in 1970 I understand why you may have been drawn there to study. I remember this tragedy but only learned of your name as I was reading your uncle’s story. I’m sorry.

Too heavy a loss

I hope God will help ameliorate the pain of Anne’s family. I deeply admired & adored Anne. It was hard not to fall for her. I didn’t say anything because she was way beyond my league. Nevertheless, I feel hurt constantly. This doesn’t seem real.

My prayers for Anne Marie

We were shocked when we read on the news that an Anne Marie Gieske from northern Kentucky had been killed in the Halloween crush in Seoul. We thought “That has to be a relative”.
I have a copy of the genealogy put together by Bernard J. Gieske, Henry and Rosa’s son and found Anne’s parents in the family tree. My wife’s family is from Cincinnati and when we would visit her parents we would also go over to Fort Mitchell and visit Anne Marie’s great-great-grandparents Henry and Rosa. I am also Daniel John Gieske. My father was Bernard Gieske, who was a son of Johann Bernhard Heinrich Gieseke (born 28 October 1850) who had emigrated to St. Louis, Missouri and lated moved to Melrose, Minnesota where he married Mary Otte. We were saddened to hear of Anne’s death and I have her in my prayers.

Our Deepest Sympathy and Condolences to Anne’s Mom and Dad

Anne was a beautiful, bright young lady that our Sake Bomb family all met the night before she departed.
She will be remembered and honored for long.
May God also take a good care of her mom and dad.
So sorry for your loss, Madonna.
Our deepest sympathy to you.

I’m sorry for your loss!

I can say with conviction that Anne was one of a kind. She made this world a better place for many people. Her kindness & humility are highly inspirational, and so is her devotion to her faith.

I wish everyone was as good a human being as Anne.

Words can’t describe how sad I am.
While I still like pious people because they’re likely to be scrupulous, I’ve lost faith because Anne should’ve continued to positively influence people around her.

I’m very sorry for your loss! I’ll strive to be like Anne & will continue to think of her every day.

The world is at a huge loss

While people usually paint a hagiographic account of those who die, in Anne’s case, people are not exaggerating. She was truly exceptional – beautiful, smart, kind, humble, and largely untouched by sin. Some people maintain a façade of niceness, but not Anne – she was a real gem! People don’t seem to realize what a huge void her untimely departure has created in the world. People like Anne are extremely rare.

I’m not her family, but I wept for a week & couldn’t work because I’m terrified – if a person like Anne doesn’t merit divine intervention, then who does? God seems to have made a huge mistake because people like Anne bring positivity & joy to those they meet, and bring them closer to their faith.

Since I’ve been depressed by her Anne being in the earthly realm anymore, I can only imagine what her family is going through. I hope God will give strength to her family to withstand this tragedy.

An Honor to Play Clarinet with Her

My heart just breaks for Anne Marie’s family. While participating in an NKU Clarinet Choir, I had the privilege of playing first clarinet with Anne Marie. There’s a tricky first measure in Holst’s 2nd Suite, and when she played it flawlessly the very first time and with such confidence, I knew she was special. Being Madonna’s daughter, I wasn’t surprised though. When she and I discovered our Beechwood connection and that I grew up with many in her family, the first thing she relayed to me was about the passing of her aunt Melanie. I thought to myself what a thoughtful and sweet thing to focus on others rather than herself. I can’t imagine the void that is left in the Gieske and Klein families from Anne Marie’s passing, but please know I have been praying for all of you and that God’s comfort is reaching you in some way. –Holly Thomasson
