Mark W. McDevitt

Obituary
Condolences

Mark W. McDevitt, 74, of Cold Spring, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends on October 9, 2024. Mark was born in Cincinnati and raised by his beloved mother, Clara McDevitt. Mark was a proud graduate of Elder High School.  For over 45 years, Mark thrived as a truck driver, known for his remarkable ability to navigate the roads without the aid of a map or GPS. His adventurous spirit extended beyond his profession; he dedicated many years to coaching youth sports, sharing his passion for athletics with countless young players. As a devoted grandfather, he cherished attending all his grandkids’ sporting events.

Mark was the life of the party, often found with a cold drink in hand, and he had a gift for making friends wherever he went—truly, he never met a stranger. Mark leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Mark is survived by his children: Gina McDevitt, Kristin (Sean) Heitman, Chad (Lauren) McDevitt and Brittany (Robby) Lohner, and Pa Pa to: Mason Rose, Kaden, Brooklyn, RJ, Everly, Carson and Ayla. He was “Old Man Mark” to his bar grandsons: Brandon, Wheels, Brian, Dalton, Dylan, Zach and the rest of his Longneck and Dickmann’s family and his life-long Elder Alumni friends.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on October 27 at Loyal Order of Moose (5247 Taylor Mill Rd. Taylor Mill KY 41015). The visitation will start at 12pm with a Service to follow at 12:30pm. Please feel free to join the family following the service for a reception and watching the Bengals play! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Tri Health Cancer and Blood Institute Patient Fund. Online condolences can be left at www.LinnemannFuneralHomes.com

One of the best.

Mark was one of the best people I have ever, he was loving, funny and always had a joke or two, I love you Mark, and I will keep you in my heart forever.

Trucking On !

Mark was one of the best. He drove for our Toledo company back in the day and was always in good spirits. He used to let my two sons sit in the cab. RIP Mark.
