Emille Walden

Obituary
Condolences

Emille Walden, 89, of Florence, KY passed away peacefully “Into The Garden” with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 25, 2024.  Amazingly enough, her husband, Fred, passed away on the same day 38 years ago.

She was born November 30, 1934 in Boyd, KY to the late Russell and Marie Wagner.

Emille’s faith was very important to her. She was a former Sunday School teacher at Ludlow Presbyterian Church, a Deacon at the Community of Faith Presbyterian Church, and she served on the Colonial Gardens Church Committee.

Emille worked for Western & Southern Life and then JC Penny. She started at the JCP in Covington and helped open the new store at the Florence Mall in 1976. She retired from her credit and customer service supervisor position after 22 years. She was also a very loving and caring Grammy to her two precious grandchildren and their friends.

Emille was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Walden, their child, Mark, her sisters: Maybelle Courtney and Glenda Steele, and her triplet grandchildren: Allison, Austin and Will Hamm.

Emille is survived by her loving daughters: Melinda (Phil) Hamm, and Leslie “Pixie” Strickland, her beloved grandchildren: Olivia Strickland and Logan Hamm, and her dear niece, Kim Teegarden.

A memorial visitation will be held for Emille on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2pm until 4pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018.  A service will be held immediately following at 4:00pm at the Funeral Home.

A lovely, sweet woman

I met Emille when the Ludlow and Covington Presbyterian churches merged in 2000. She was one of the most beautiful and kindest people I’d ever met. I was surprised by Emille’s eyebrows and the fact that they were blue. I was even more surprised when she told me they had been tattooed on. She was truly a unique person and I will cherish her friendship forever.
