With sorrow in our hearts, we regret to inform you that on May 12, 2023 James Donald Carter, 85,  passed away peacefully at home in Florence, KY. 

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at: 

St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church 

7301 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042 at 10:30 am. 

Immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at: 

Barleycorn’s 

2642 Dixie Hwy, Lakeside Park, KY 41017 

James was born on May 04, 1938 in Glendale, OH. He served in the United States Navy for a term of 4  years, after which he had a successful career at Ford Motor Company until retirement. He married  Barbara Carter on August 06, 1960. They raised 5 children: Kathy Wible, Brenda Carter, Kimberly  Bingaman, Robert Carter & Kelly Heitkamp. 10 grandchildren: Bruce, Kalub, Andry, Mark, David,  Chris, Rachel, April, Mikayla & Jasmine. And were also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren. He lived  out his days in Crittenden, KY with his family in a beautiful lake-side home. He was smart & funny with  a sense of humor that made us all laugh until tears filled our eyes. He loved to hunt and had a passion  for guns. He enjoyed traveling out west with his wife, visiting family & loved ones. In moments of crisis  he has always been a pillar of strength that helped us find our direction in life. He opened his heart &  home in times of need, to many of his children & grandchildren over the years. His love for God, his wife  & family shown bright until his last days. He will always be remembered for the laughter he brought,  the love he showed & the discipline he taught. He was a devoted husband, loving father & grandfather  who meant more to his family than he ever understood. He is wholeheartedly & sorely missed.
