A Great Man & Outstanding Marine

Dear Chris and family: I m so sorry to hear about Randy, if there is anything the Ontos group may assist, please let us know?
We met about 8 years ago, via Scott’s excellent detective work. I was looking for this Marine tanker who had the highest award in Vietnam. Then we convinced him to go to a reunion in 2013. We hit it off immediately, as we like the Marines, Ontos tank, Vietnam history and ’60’s cars. At least 1/2 of our conversations were about cars & his pristine ’67 GTX. They wrote a book about his battle, were they lost 3 BIG tanks in 10 minutes. This was Ambush Valley, and his small tank, Ontos, was very important in saving an entire Battalion of 26th Marines. He was nominated for the Medal of Honor.
