Charlie Ward
FLORENCE – Charlie R. Ward, 59, of Florence, formerly of Crittenden, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, at St. Elizabeth Florence.He was a conductor for Norfolk Southern Railroad, was a Vietnam War Army veteran who earned two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Ward; son, Michael Ward of Springhill; mother, Ethel Saylor of London; sisters, Ruby Tackett of Tampa, Fla., Brenda Wheeler of Charleston, S.C. and Barb Trammell of Florence; brothers, Ron Ward of Corbin, Tom Rose of Knoxville, Tenn., Steve Surgener of Somerset and Dan Surgener of London and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, with service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown.
