Oscar Smith

Oscar Earl Smith, 94, passed away peacefully Monday August 29th at Woodcrest Manor Nursing Home. He worked for 40 years at General Electric retiring as a plant manager and continued as a consultant for overseas plant development. He was a charter member of Erlanger Lions Club, longtime volunteer for United Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, Welcome House and Parish Kitchen. Oscar devoted many years going on mission trips for the Disciples of Christ Ministries. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Smith. Survivors include his son George Smith of Carmel IN, daughters Patricia Slater of Petersburg KY, Bonita Murphy of Lakeland FL and Gayle Knapp of Florence KY. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday September 1st from 4 to 8pm at Linnemann Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Center in Erlanger. Funeral service will be held Friday September 2nd at 11am at Erlanger Christian Church. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
