David Welte

David Welte Sr. age 69 of Florence, Ky. passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at
St. Elizabeth hospice center after a long battle with cancer. Before working for Boone
County Property Maintenance, he was the owner and operator of Dave’s Chevron Service
in Walton, Ky. As well as being an active member of St. Paul’s church in Florence, were
he did serve as a president of SVDP St. Paul Conference. He was a former president of
Walton’s Lion Club. He was survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Peggy Hook-
Welte and two loving sons, David Welte Jr. of Liberty Township and Charles Welte of
Verona. Along with three sisters, Dolores Muhlenpohl of Cincinnati, Patricia Bankemper
of Newport, and Therese Shaw Jones of Cleveland, three brothers, Fred Welte Jr. of
Cincinnati, Steven Welte of Augusta, and Richard Welte of Augusta, two grandchildren,
Cody Welte and Demi Welte of Verona and two step-grandchildren, Brandon Smith and
Justin Smith of Liberty Township. Visitation will be Wednesday January 4th, 5-8pm at
St. Paul Church in Florence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 10am at the
church. Memorial contributions may be made to SVDP, St. Paul’s Conference.
