Stanley Townsend
Stanley Townsend, 69, passed on Saturday, September 21, at his Florence home with his family surrounding him. Stan is the son of the late Carl and Glenna Townsend, beloved stepson of Georgia Townsend. Stan is survived by Maureen McGuire Townsend, his loving wife of 47 years. Their three sons, Rocky [Katy], Patrick [Heather] and Peter [Debi] will miss their devoted dad and friend. PaPa was his name and “spoiling” was his game to eight beautiful grandchildren Chloe, Haley, Carlie, Ethan, Casey, Carson, Nolan and Lucian. Stan is survived by one brother, Rev. Carl M Townsend , who he loved and admired. Stan and Maureen owned and operated QUALITY INTERIORS in Ft Mitchell for 20 years. Stan coached Erlanger Lions PeeWee football for 12 years, coaching his three sons and a host of young Erlanger men. He was honored in 2012 by the NKYFL for his service and devotion to the children. His love for golf and travel allowed him to play golf all across the US and also taking his sticks to Ireland, Scotland, Bermuda, and Hawaii. He was a member of the Erlanger Lions Club, past member of Ft Mitchell Country Club, the Diocese of Covington Cursillo Movement. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. Over the last 21 months Stan battled Congestive Heart Failure under the care of an amazing team of professionals at OSU Ross Heart Hospital, and Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital. The Townsend family is grateful for the dedication of Dr. Sai Sudahker , Dr. Suresh and Dr. Schabell. Memorial services will be held at Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Erlanger on Saturday, September 28 @ 12 noon. Gathering with the family will begin @10AM. Memorials may be made to Stan Townsend Memorial Fund in care of any Huntington Bank.
