Dr. John Stevie

Dr. John R. Stevie, 92, of Crestview Hills, KY, born December 4, 1921, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Madonna Manor Villa Hills. Dr. Stevie is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rita (Schultz Hudepohl) Stevie, son John (Mary) Stevie of Taylor Mill, KY; daughters Susan (Greg) Summe, of Boston, MA; Julie (Charlie) Nieman, of Florence, KY; Margaret Bolan of Bellevue, WA; and Barbara (Jeffrey) Centers, of Miamisburg, OH; Grandchildren Benjamin (Meher), Joseph, and William Stevie, Heather (Matt) Summe-Aleksinas, Erin, and Ryan Summe, Suzanne and Alex Nieman, Patrick, Sean, and Timothy Bolan, and Mitchell & Mallory Centers. Dr. Stevie was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Ann (Heck) who passed away in 1995. Dr. Stevie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Dr. Stevie was a graduate of Newport Catholic High School, University of Cincinnati, and University of Louisville School of Medicine. He was the first board certified OB/GYN in Kenton County, and delivered an estimated 10,000 during his career. Dr. Stevie was a lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, where he served with distinction as a C-46 cargo pilot in the South Pacific. Family was always Dr. Stevie’s priority. He was devoted to his loving wives, his children, grandchildren, his siblings and his nieces and nephews, all of whom were devoted to him. He encouraged his children and grandchildren from childhood to treat each other as best friends because no one else in the world was connected better than family. Visitation will be THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 2014 AT LINNEMANN FUNERAL HOME, ELRANGER FROM 4 TO 8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 13 at 10AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft. Mitchell, KY. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Be Concerned, 714 Washington Avenue, Covington, KY 41011.
