Theodore Rakel

Theodore H. Rakel, 88, of Edgewood, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Mr. Rakel was a professional musician and entertainer in the Cincinnati area for many years. He attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and received a regional Emmy for musical arranging. Mr. Rakel also served in the U.S. Navy and was a WWII Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Jane Rakel (nee Moser), son David Rakel (wife Joan), daughter Julie Meyer (husband Jerry), daughter Francine Weigand (husband Roger), son Ted Rakel (wife Maureen), and grandchildren Beth Rakel, Ann Rakel, Katie Rakel, Andrew Weigand, Scott Weigand, Matt Rakel, and Celeste Rakel. He is also survived by a sister Mary Ann Williams (husband Tom) and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 11:00am at St. Pius X Church in Edgewood. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Ft. Mitchell, KY.
