Garry Paul, 79, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026.

Born to the late Arthur and Lucille Paul, Garry lived a life devoted to faith, family, education, and service to others. He was a longtime member of Erlanger Methodist Church and Florence United Methodist Church.

A proud graduate of Whitley County High School, Garry earned his teaching degree from Cumberland College and later completed his master’s degree and rank I through Xavier University.

For more than 30 years, Garry dedicated his career to education, serving as a science teacher specializing in biology and chemistry. Throughout his career in Kenton and Boone County schools, he was Dean of Boys and assistant principal. He deeply cared for his students and always had their best interests at heart, leaving a lasting impact on countless young people.

In addition to his work in education, Garry was the head baseball coach at Dixie Heights High School, where he shared his love of sports and mentorship with generations of student-athletes. His love for sports continued through his life and was always a die-hard UK fan.

Above all else, Garry cherished his family. He especially loved his girls and treasured every moment spent with them. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States on his motorcycle and was an active member of the Gold Wing Club. He also loved bass fishing, boating with his family, and managing the Triple E Swim Club. A gifted storyteller, Garry could captivate any audience with his tales and adventures. Following his retirement, Garry continued serving others by volunteering at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

Garry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna Paul; daughter, Sherry Paul (Kelly Stone); son-in-law, Todd Hall; sister-in-law, Rhonda Pfaff; brother-in-law, Bill Stafford sister-in-law, Shirley Paul; grandchildren, Will Dreyer and Ella Dreyer; nephews, Adam Reynolds, Mike Paul (Terri), and Alan Paul (Renee); and nieces, Maribeth Stafford (Olivia Kelleher) and Julie Paul.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucille Paul; daughter, Angie Hall; brother, Chester Paul; sister, Rovena Eddy; nieces, Stacey Phillips and Rachel Paul; and his parents-in-law, Ray and Marjorie Pfoff.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:30pm. Following the service, a reception will be held at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. Memorial contributions may be made in Garry’s memory to the Ehlers-Danlos Society and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
