Tonya Gail Hammel

April 1, 1967 – May 27, 2026

Tonya Gail Hammel, born Tonya Gail Robinson, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 59 years old.

Born on April 1, 1967, Tonya lived a life centered around family, compassion, and helping others. She was a longtime member of the Erlanger Lions Club and never hesitated to help anyone who was down on their luck. Her kindness and selflessness touched countless lives, and she truly had a heart of gold.

Tonya also found joy in adventure and making memories with those she loved. She especially loved spending summers traveling to and exploring filming locations from The Walking Dead with her best friend, Deborah, creating memories she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robinson and Juanita Robinson; her sister, Patty Kuhn; and her brother, Tommy Robinson.

Tonya is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Hammel; her children, Josh Robinson and his partner, Lisa; Derrick Robinson and his wife, Jessica; Meagan Hammel and her husband, Eric; Allyssa Hammel and her partner, Christian; and Kellcee Hammel and her partner, Graham. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Noa, Lila, Maci, Remington, Jonah, and Zoe; her loving siblings, Jim Robinson and his wife, Gail, Debbie Wood and her husband, Danny, and Terry Robinson and his wife, Billie; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Above all else, Tonya loved her family fiercely. The love, kindness, and strength she poured into others will continue to live on through everyone blessed enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, Tonya wished for donations to be made to Teal We Find a Cure in support of ovarian cancer awareness and research.

The family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
