Edward Smain
Edward Shannon Smain (Schmeing) Sr., 83, of Villa Hills, passed away on September 1st, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He was retired from serving as the Field Superintendant for Kenton County Water Works for 32 years. He also was an avid fan of horse racing, a sports enthusiast, and he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen Schmeing, and his son-in-law, John Lampke. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Smain (nee Remke) of Villa Hills; his son, Eddie (Diane) Smain Jr. of Ft. Mitchell; his daughters, Mary Lynn Lampke of Florence, Maureen Smain of Villa Hills, and Laura (Greg) Melcher of Florence. He also leaves behind his 7 grandchildren: Bens, David, Emma, Justine, Stella, Bryce, and Clayton. Visitation will be on Thursday September 4th, 2014 from 4:00-8:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday September 5th, 2014 at 10:30 AM St. Joseph’s Church in Crescent Springs. Burial will follow mass at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia.
