Elaine Ann Caldwell

Obituary
Condolences

Elaine Ann Caldwell, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 25, 2026.

She was the beloved wife of Dr. Charles Caldwell, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage rooted in love, faith, and commitment.

Elaine was the proud and loving mother to Erin Schneider (Kurt), Krista Hamilton (Neil), Sara Steinmann (Keith), and Ashley Killinder (John). She was a cherished grandmother to Thomas and Alex Castrucci; Jack Hamilton; Noah, Kyle, Andrew, and Kate Steinmann; and Juliet, Arielle, and Joanna Killinder. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harriet and Albert Welzel, and is survived by her six siblings.

Elaine lived a life grounded in faith and guided by kindness. She had a gentle spirit and a warm smile that reflected the joy she carried within.

She enjoyed painting, playing the dulcimer, and time at the beach. She especially loved summer, when her home became a gathering place filled with laughter and love.

Elaine’s life was a testament to love – love for her family, her friends, and her faith. Her memory will live on in all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at Linnemann Funeral Homes, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, Kentucky 41005. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.

Deepest Sympathy

I was heartbroken to hear of Elaine’s passing. I have known Elaine & her twin ,Nancy since we were in first grade together. We also went to the same church. We had many happy fun times together and lots of laughter and many fond memories. Elaine was so sweet .When my husband & I were dating, we would go to Frische’s in Ft Mitchell to see Elaine when she was working.
I live in Colorado and haven’t seen Elaine in years, but we always tried to stay in touch. I was so sorry when she told me last year of her cancer diagnosis of glioblastoma.I lost my youngest sister 14 years ago to the same brain cancer. I prayed that Elaine’s outcome would be better, but it was not to be .Elaine will always live in my heart. She will not be forgotten.
My deepest sympathy & love go out to Chuck and their beautiful family. Elaine is not gone. She will live in your hearts forever.
Peace & comfort to each of you at this difficult time,
Barbara Rollo Fiedler

My Condolences

I will always remember your parents who came to all the football games when Alex & Frankie were in high school. They were so dedicated and always present. I hope you are able to celebrate the very full life it sounds like she had. Prayers for you and your family as you grieve her loss. Sounds like she was a faithful person as well so hopefully knowing she is home now brings you some comfort. Love and Hugs to you all, Jill Salzarulo
