Leonard E. Adams, 84, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 27, 1941, in Covington to the late Leonard and Mary (née Schappert) Adams. Leonard built a life centered on faith, family, laughter, and the simple joys that meant the most.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Perry White; his brothers, Bob Adams and James White; and his precious grandson, Ace Hamblin. Though their loss weighed heavily on his heart, he carried their memories with him always.

Leonard is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Jackie Adams (née Ramler), the love of his life and his constant companion. Together they created a beautiful family that was Leonard’s greatest pride. He leaves behind his daughter, Terri Hamblin (Matt Siekman); his son, Manny Adams (Cassie); his sister, Marie Hall; his beloved grandchildren, Katelyn Proctor, Lexi Hamblin, Brody Adams, and Delaney Adams; his adored great-grandchildren, Braylen and Jayda; his sisters-in-law, Tudy Bell and Nancy Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His family was his world, and nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by them.

A proud Kentucky Colonel, Leonard was known for his big personality and even bigger heart. He loved camping trips, fishing with his family, playing cards, traveling to Florida, and especially hunting and fishing alongside his brother Bobby. He also loved laying on a raft in his pool, donning the best tan in town. He rarely missed a ballgame, recital, or sporting event for his children and grandchildren—always cheering the loudest of anyone, from the sidelines. He loved watching Alabama football, often wearing team apparel, as he supported his team.  Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for the Postal Service for 35 years.

Leonard had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making others smile. His laughter filled rooms, his stories brought people together, and his presence made life brighter for everyone who knew him. Leonard also hosted huge parties every summer for his daughter, Terri and her friends, in the 1980’s that are still cherished and talked about today.  He always took pride in everything he did, and having the best Christmas lights on the street was something he truly enjoyed.  It was a long, difficult task, but he always rose to the occasion to make everyone around him happy.  More than anything, he will be remembered as a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and a man who showed his love through time spent together.

Visitation will be held at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington on February 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Burlington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Epilepsy Foundation in Leonard’s memory.

Though he will be deeply missed, Leonard’s love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on for generations to come.
