Obituary
Condolences

Joan Elizabeth DiOrio (née Mueller), of Erlanger, Kentucky, joined the angels on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 102. Joan lived a long, full, and rewarding life. She was born in 1924, graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1942, and married the love of her life, Dan R. DiOrio, in 1944. Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Dan DiOrio (the late Carol DiOrio) and Ron DiOrio (Gayle), both of Erlanger; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Mueller and Emma Mueller (née Wildhaber); her sister, Rosemary Woody; her husband, Dan R. DiOrio; and her beloved granddaughter, Amy Gray. Joan enjoyed cooking and cherished visits from family and friends. Later in life, she traveled throughout the country—from Maine to Hawaii—embracing new places and experiences with joy and curiosity. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Church, 3813 Dixie Highway, Elsmere, Kentucky 41018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Church. Entombment will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery, 523 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home or St. Henry Church.
