Condolences

William E. Grant “Bill,” age 92, of Florence, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026.

Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Bill loved playing golf and baseball and was known for his strong work ethic. He began his career in printing and worked his way into management at The Cincinnati Enquirer. Above all, Bill cherished time with his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marlene Grant; his children, Greg (Rita) Grant, Jeff (Barbara) Grant, and Cynthia (Joseph) Hunt; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his brother, Nick Grant; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Ellen Grant, and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. Military honors will be rendered at 11:45 a.m., immediately following the visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Tuesday, February 3, at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Burlington. A reception will immediately follow at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington from 1pm to 3pm. Bill will be laid to rest privately at Mother of God Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
