Homer James Walters, 74, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
He was born on October 15, 1951, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Lodelia (West) Walters.
Homer was the devoted husband of Betty Ruth (Eich) Walters, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, Lynda (Dan) Brothers, Tiffany (Jay) Bencale, Thomas (Daphne) Walters, and Eddie Mitchell, whom he lovingly welcomed into his home and heart as family. He was a proud grandfather to Elizabeth (Bryson) Waller, Tara, Hayley, Aaron, Kayla, and Alayna Brothers, Brandon and Emma Bencale, and Phoenix Walters, and a cherished great-grandfather to Kadence. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert, Paul, Brenda and Janet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Walters.
Homer was a man deeply devoted to his family and took his greatest joy in time spent with them—especially his grandchildren. He was never too busy to get down on the floor and play, listen, or simply be present. His home was always open, and he never met a stranger.
A true jack of all trades, Homer could fix just about anything. A mechanic by trade, he owned and operated Homer’s Radiator Service for more than 40 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet confidence, and attention to detail. People trusted him not only for his skill, but for his honesty and integrity.
Homer loved the outdoors and found peace in nature. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and trips to the mountains. A man of few words, he spoke with purpose. He listened first, led with humility, and had a steady presence that made others feel supported and understood.
A man of faith, Homer was a faithful member of Florence Baptist Temple, where he generously used his talents to help maintain the church vehicle fleet and quietly serve behind the scenes.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, Kentucky 41005.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the same location.
Burial will take place at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 6640 KY-467, Demossville, Kentucky 41033.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made in Homers name to Florence Baptist Temple.
