Cecil R. Brown

Cecil R. Brown, age 81, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at Villa Spring Nursing Home in Erlanger, KY.

Cecil was born on January 5, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Robert Guinn Brown and Marian Brown (née Wiggins).

He dedicated more than 30 years of service to law enforcement, serving his community with integrity and commitment. Over the course of his career, Cecil worked with several departments, including the Wilder Police Department and Northern Kentucky University where he earned the respect of colleagues and those he served.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ballard; his son, Matthew G. Brown; and his daughter, Rebecca G. Martin. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Mentor. Cecil was a proud grandfather to Sara Tye, Michael Martin, and Mitchell Martin, and a cherished great-grandfather to Payton Tye.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service immediately following, at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005.

Burial will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky.
