Michael G. Stalnaker II

Obituary
Condolences

Michael G. Stalnaker II50, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was born on February 17, 1975, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Known for his warm spirit, quick smile, and generous heart, Michael lived life with acceptance, humor, and courage. He cherished his relationship, especially with his beloved niece and nephew, and took joy in attending their events, sharing in their laughter and accomplishments.

Michael had a creative eye and gentle curiosity about the world. He loved photography, particularly capturing nature and architectural beauty. He enjoyed long walks and hikes with his partner, Nick, through cities like New York and St. Louis, and treasured outdoor experiences, including canoeing adventures with his brother and the kids. A fan of fantasy worlds, Michael delighted in Harry Potter, dragons, and all things imaginative. In quieter moments, he enjoyed playing video games—especially World of WarCraft—and could often be found immersed in a story or a virtual adventure.

His best friend Mike and his partner Nick recall him as warm, loving, romantic, and friendly, with an open heart and a “live and let live” worldview. Michael met life’s challenges with remarkable bravery, and though gentle by nature, he was honest and direct when pushed too far. He carried no hate in his heart, a reflection of his generous, accepting spirit.

Michael graduated from Scott High School in 1994 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He dedicated four years to public service as a Deputy Clerk for the Kenton County Clerk’s Office, where his pleasant nature and easy rapport with others made a lasting impression.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Gene Stalnaker I.

Michael is survived by his loving mother, Linda Stalnaker; his brother Chris (Sabrina) Stalnaker; his nephew Christopher Stalnaker II and niece Alexis Stalnaker; his best friend Michael Doud; and his devoted boyfriend, Dongxing “Nick” Huang, who stood by his side through life’s greatest joys and challenges; and numerous other family members and friends.

Loving Friend

I have known Michael for over 30 years!! Life got busy and we were not close the last few years. I know he is in a better place, but the world lost a gentle kind loving soul.

I love you, Michael! Rest in heaven and keep watch over all of us here.

Linda and Chris…. So very sorry for your loss. There are no words to make this any better.
