Tributes
Lydia Linahan, 80, of Hebron, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born on March 15, 1945 in McKee, Kentucky.
Lydia was a mom above all else—a role she carried with devotion, humor, and all her heart. She lit up every room she walked into, and you never knew what she might say next. Her quick wit and bold personality kept everyone entertained and on their toes. She found the things that made her happy while simultaneously bringing joy to those around her. Lydia lived life her way and on her terms.
She loved to dance, cherished family game nights, and was always up for shopping—especially when QVC was involved. Lydia was a proud Bengals fan and enjoyed countless evenings of bingo with friends and family.
Lydia is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Linahan; her children, Debbie (Chris) Riehle, Michelle (Tony) Buckingham, and Michael Linahan; her granddaughter, Dallas Nichole (Todd) Bailey; her brother, Ron Lakes, and sister, Kathy Alcorn. She is also survived by three half sisters—Sheila, Donna, and Betty, and three bonus grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, and Christopher Buckingham—as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walker Lakes and Barbara Haun; and her sister, Marion Mavridoglou.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, Kentucky. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
