Tributes
Karen “Sue” Wells (nee Wainscott), 76, of Erlanger, KY, went to her heavenly home on October 3, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY.
She was born on January 13, 1949, in Covington, KY, to the late Tom and Clara Wainscott. A proud graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School, Sue went on to serve others in many roles throughout her life—as an EKG Technician, a devoted homemaker, and a talented hair stylist.
Sue was the beloved wife of the late Glenn Wells, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Together, they were active members of the Erlanger Elsmere Emergency Squad and longtime members of Erlanger Methodist Church.
She was a devoted mother to Bill (Luanna) Robinson and Kelley (Kevin) Carter; a loving sister to Sharon (Greg) Schmidtz; and a cherished grandmother to Eric (Jordyn Houston) Boston, Zachery Robinson, Devin Grabow, Jackson Carter, and Peyton Carter. Sue was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Willow and Aspen Boston, who brought her tremendous joy.
Sue was known for her fun-loving spirit, selflessness, and boundless energy. She never hesitated to help anyone—family, friends, or neighbors alike. Having become a mother at a young age, she embraced the role wholeheartedly and devoted herself to raising her children with love, encouragement, and support. Later in life, she found deep purpose and joy as “Grandma Sue,” attending countless school events, field trips, and sporting games, teaching her grandchildren how to drive, and always cheering them on.
She loved sunshine and time by the pool, relaxing with her loyal companion Sammi, keeping her nails painted pink, and indulging in a good dessert—especially cheesecake. After Glenn’s passing in 2023, Sue carried on with grace and resilience, though his absence was deeply felt every day.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 11:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY. Sue will be laid to rest beside Glenn at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, KY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Erlanger Methodist Church 31 Commonwealth Ave. Erlanger, KY 41018.
