Obituary
Condolences

Walter Anthony Nordloh, 83, of Edgewood, Kentucky, left this world peacefully on August 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 10, 1942, in Ludlow, he was the son of Walter Henry and Germaine (Ziegler) Nordloh.

Walter’s greatest joy in life came from his family. He was happily married to his cherished wife Joan for more than 60 years, and his heart was full with his children, Daniel (Heather) and Christopher (DeLaina). He was also a proud grandpa “papa” to his beloved grandchildren—Abby, Lilli, Ben, Katie, Andy, Zachary, and Reed—who brought endless happiness and pride into his life.

He spent over thirty years working at Cinergy, but his true passion was always about the people and the hobbies he loved most. Walter had a gift for woodworking; he lovingly made bassinets for his grandchildren and crafted treasured jewelry boxes, pieces that will be passed down for generations. He enjoyed building model trains, coaching little league baseball, and was an avid reader. His curious mind and joyful spirit were infectious, and he loved sharing laughs and stories with family and friends.

Walter truly embraced life with warmth, kindness, and a gentle heart. He filled every moment with love, laughter, and purpose, and his family will forever remember him for being not just talented, but also a guiding light and a source of comfort.

The family would like to sincerely thank the caring team at St. Elizabeth for the compassion they showed Walter during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Walter’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Wonderful neighbor!

My family has lived next to Walt & Joan for 20 years. Always a wonderful neighbor. I will miss our chats in the driveway catching up on family, friends and politics. Walt, you will be missed, the neighborhood won’t be the same. #thegoat
