Deloris Diane “Diane” Proffitt, age 80, of Union, Kentucky, passed away on August 21, 2025, in the loving care of Boonespring, surrounded by her family.
Diane dedicated her career as a marketing research specialist. Outside of her work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening, cooking, and traveling. A proud supporter of UK basketball, Diane rarely missed a chance to cheer on her Wildcats.
Above all, her greatest joy came from her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Proffitt, and her parents, Robert and Tommy Fowler.
Diane is survived by her children, James (Stephanie) Proffitt and Heather Proffitt; her cherished granddaughters, Zooey and Anastasia Proffitt; as well as many cousins and extended family members who will deeply miss her warmth and kindness.
The family will honor Diane’s life privately.
