Jay Weissmann

Obituary
Condolences

Jay Weissmann, 68, of Burlington, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2025. Jay was born on May 21, 1957, in Covington to the late Calvin Douglas and Eula Vernice (nee Taylor) Weissmann.

For 26 years Jay proudly served as a police officer for the University of Cincinnati. In his retirement, he went on to “retire” four more times.

Jay was active in his community — volunteering for many years with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and 4-H Youth programs. He attended Belleview Baptist Church in Belleview Bottoms. He was a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, an Eagle Scout, lifetime member of the United Trappers of Kentucky, served on the Boone County 4-H Council, and coached the 4-H Shooting Sports club.

His great sense of humor was frequently accompanied by a candy bar and a Pepsi. He loved baseball and banana splits. Jay loved his family deeply, and found joy in the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betsy Weissmann; his son, Doug (Mandy) Weissmann; his daughter, Marie (Drew) Weissmann-Nolting; grandchildren: Ashton Weissmann, Colten Faine, Pierce Nolting, and Giorgiana Nolting; his father-in-law, Bob Maurer; brother and sister-in-law, John and Karen Maurer; and many more beloved relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 9am to 12pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Belleview Baptist Church
