Ina Marie Hahlbeck

Obituary
Condolences

Ina Marie Hahlbeck, age 72, of Walton, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by loved ones after a life rich in friendship, family, and joy. Born on June 17, 1953, Ina was known by everyone who met her as a vibrant spirit who was always on the go and never met a stranger. Her warm heart made it easy for her to turn anyone she met into a friend—often over a sweet batch of her famous peanut butter balls.

Ina was a devoted homemaker, a role she filled with grace and love. She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend, but perhaps her favorite title was “Gigi.” She doted on her grandchildren and was the heart of every family gathering.

Ina and her husband, Ken Hahlbeck, spent part of each year at the Black Horse Resort Ranch in Florida, where they built a second life full of sunshine and close-knit friendships. Her “Florida Family” was incredibly dear to her and brought her tremendous joy.

She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Locker, her stepfather Albert Hanson, and her cherished mother-in-law, Vera “Babi” Hahlbeck.

Ina is survived by her loving husband, Ken Hahlbeck, and her children: Traci (Michael) Kleier, Jennifer (Drew) Awsumb, and Kelly Hahlbeck. She was the proud Gigi to Madison, Hunter, Abigail, and Savannah Kleier; Elynor and Coleman Awsumb; and Shae Hahlbeck.

She also leaves behind her siblings: Richard Nugent, Joseph Nugent, Patrick Nugent, Judy Robertson, and Rebecca Brohn; her dear “second family,” Michael, Zada and Sarah Scott; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Ina’s energy, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the laughter she shared, and the family she adored.

A visitation for Ina will be held on Friday, June 27 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, Kentucky. Service will be held on Saturday, June 28 at Richwood Presbyterian Church at 10:00am followed by a burial at Richwood Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations to Richwood Presbyterian Church (mail to 1070 Richwood Road Walton, KY 41094) or Fairhaven Rescue Mission (https://www.fairhavenmission.org/donate-online/)  in lieu of flowers.
