Tributes
Braden John Hermes, 27, of Burlington, KY, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2025.
Braden was a dreamer, a doer, and a man with a heart as big as his ambitions. Known for his love of football, deep devotion to his daughter, and his contagious energy, Braden left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was a proud graduate of Kelly Elementary, Camp Ernst Middle School, and Beechwood High School, later attending Georgetown College where he played football. Always chasing his next goal, Braden was working towards a career in public service—pursuing paths as a firefighter, EMT, and police officer. He was truly a jack of all trades, always eager to serve and support his community.
Braden found great joy in coaching football, especially at Highlands High School and with the NKYFL Bandits. He dreamed of becoming a full-time football coach and poured his passion into every practice and game. He was a devoted Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and never turned down a round of golf or a good hunting trip.
Above all, Braden was a proud and loving father. His daughter, Reagan, was the center of his universe. He was also a cherished uncle, son, brother, and friend—always showing up with love, laughter, and sometimes a Busch Light or a pour of bourbon.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Reagan Hermes; parents Jeff and Janet Hermes; siblings Jordan (Ashley Gamell) Lorenzen, Jennifer (Brian Lee) Lorenzen, and Kyle Hermes; nieces and nephews Taylar and Emma Lorenzen, Tayden Lorenzen, Tucker Lee, Carter Lorenzen, and Braxton Lorenzen; aunts and uncles Bob (Sue) Barth, Dan (Barbara) Barth, Ted Arlinghaus, Tom Barth, Patti (Tim) Dixon, Linda (Jerry) Rogers, Don (Ruthie) Barth, Barb (Pat Knapke) Barth, Marc (Lisa Hamilton) Hermes, and David (Erin) Hermes. He also leaves behind many cousins, and close friends who will miss him dearly.
Braden was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John and Emily Hermes; maternal grandparents Ray and Mary “Biz” Barth; brother Jared Lorenzen; and aunt Joni Arlinghaus.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at St. Henry Catholic Church, followed by a Memorial Mass at 6:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has created a memorial account with Fifth Third to support the future of his daughter Reagan, the person he loved most in this world. The care fund for Reagan is being managed by her grandparents Jeff and Janet Hermes who is overseeing all donations with love and transparency. Venmo: @Jeff-Hermes1175
