Born on May 10, 1955, to the late William and Shirley Vaught, Kenny was a proud lifelong resident of Boone County. A 1973 graduate of Boone County High School, where he was class president for all four years.
Kenny began his career in education, teaching social studies and serving as dean of boys at Newport Middle School, where he also coached football. Driven by a passion for justice and public service, he went on to earn his law degree from Chase Law School in 1985 and became a practicing attorney. His career included roles with LexisNexus and Marathon Oil.
Deeply rooted in his community, Kenny was a member of the First Church of Christ and served on the Boone County Planning and Zoning Commission. He cared deeply about the place he called home.
Kenny had a rich love for life. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Reds, and UK basketball. He relished trips to Mecum Auto Auctions and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy! or The Price Is Right. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Shirley; grandchildren, Gemma Bray and Aidan Wagner; and fur baby, Buddy.
