It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sweet Karen, who left us peacefully on May 18th at the age of 57. Her presence in our lives was a cherished gift, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. She was born to Leslee Garner Curotto and Terrance “Terry” O’Brien on April 21, 1968 at St. Elizabeth in Covington, Kentucky.
Karen was a source of boundless love and compassion. She had a gentle way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and included. Her kindness and unwavering support touched every soul she encountered; through her warm smile, listening ear, her quiet strength and great sense of humor. She enjoyed being with her family, sunsets at the beach and skiing.
Karen made the world a better place simply by being in it. Her legacy lives on in every story shared, every act of kindness done in her spirit, and most especially through her three loving children—Daniel Schlipf, Ben Schlipf, and Hallie Schlipf—who carry forward her heart and light. She is survived by her parents, Leslee Garner Curotto and Terrance “Terry” O’Brien, her husband, Dan Schlipf, her brother, Patrick O’Brien,
and her sister, Taylor Adair (Jordan), Quinton O’Brien and Nikolas O’Brien. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Anne “Hannah” Benzing.

My Deepst Sympathy
My heart was broken to hear that my old neighbor from High Ridge Park had passed. Karen you brought so much joy to my life. When I had some dark times your shoulder to cry on and you just listening helped so much. I so enjoyed our power walks around Taylor Mill, laughing at silly jokes, taking Zumba and yoga classes and you laughing at just how awkward I was. This girl had no rhythm and two left feet. It was never a dull moment. I will miss your smile and dancing eyes making life so much better. V Griffin
Schlipf Family
I met Karen and her Mother in the mid 80s when the three of us worked at the Drawbridge Inn. Her bright eyes, smile and kindness left a good first impression. No matter her job or career, she was always the same. My sincere Condolences go out to Karen’s Parents, to Dan & Daniel and their entire family and close friends. My thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved Karen. May she rest well in the arms of Jesus. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
