Margie Reusch

Obituary
Condolences

Margie Reusch , age 88, of Independence, KY/ Homosassa, FL, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born on January 29, 1937, in Covington, KY, Margie lived a full and vibrant life, devoted to her family, faith and friends.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Reusch, with whom she would have celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage May 4th. Robert preceded her death in 2015, and now they are reunited forever.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret Altemuehle; her son Michael Reusch; and her brothers, Paul and David Altemuehle.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Jeanni) Reusch Jr., Cyndi Reusch, Rick Reusch, and Mary (Jeff) Bolger, her 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Margie was the matriarch to her family, enjoying every opportunity to spend time with the adults and especially the younger generations. She had a gift of making sure every child felt special and heard. Not only was she dedicated to her family, but she also was a believer of giving back in life by volunteering with various church, school and community programs, both in KY and FL. She was a longtime member of St Patrick Catholic Church, where faith was a cornerstone in her life. In addition to being a homemaker and talented seamstress most of her life, Margie also retired as an Administrative Assistant from a financial company.

A long time winter resident of Florida, Margie cherished her time there, calling it her “happy place.” She was an avid game enthusiast, including card games, Bingo, puzzles, etc., and she was known for her social, outgoing nature— never meeting a stranger. Her thrifty spirit, excellent cooking and homemaking skills, and love for family and social gatherings, created countless cherished memories for those around her.

A visitation for Margie will be held on Monday, June 16th, 2025 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Taylor Mill, Kentucky from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with Mass to follow.

In keeping with her generous spirit, Margie donated her body to University of Cincinnati’s Body Donation Program, contributing to the advancement of medical education and research.

Deepest sympathy

I am very saddened to hear of Margie’s passing. I knew she had been battling some recent illness but prayed she would make a full recovery. My memories of her go back to my childhood being a close friend of Rick’s. She was a very kind woman and always treated me well. While her passing has ended her life on earth the many lessons, she taught will continue to inspire me and many others this, I am sure. My thoughts and prayers are with the Reusch family in this difficult time. God Bless!

Safely Home

May you rest in eternal peace Aunt Margie – My Godmother made it safely Home. I still try to make the family German potato salad on occasion with the recipe you gave me. It will never taste as good as you made it though. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Rob, Cyndi, Rick, Mary, et al
