Bernadette Walden (née Johnson)June 8, 1963 – April 23, 2025With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bernadette Walden, who left us to be with the Lord on April 23, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Norman and Doris Johnson (née Geldrich), Bernadette lived a life filled with love, laughter, and quiet strength.Bernadette spent over three decades working as an X-ray technician at St. Elizabeth, where she was known not only for her skill and dedication, but for her warmth and kindness to every patient and colleague. Her care extended far beyond her work—she had a natural way of making people feel seen and loved.Family was everything to Bernadette. She found her greatest joy in the simple moments—gatherings with loved ones, long chats over coffee, and the everyday rituals that made a house a home. She was the kind of person who lit up a room just by walking into it, and who always had a listening ear and an open heart. She is survived by her loving husband Chris Bucksath and her cherished daughter Elizabeth Jane Walden (Sean), who will carry her beautiful spirit forward in everything they do. Bernadette is also survived by her siblings, Norman Johnson (Martha), Judy Wantz (Paul), David Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Jane Johnson (Dan), Andrew Johnson (Lynelle) and Michael Johnson (Dawn). She will be missed by her numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews in the Johnson, Geldrich, Walden and Buchsath families. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother Robert Johnson and her sister Sue Johnson, whom she missed deeply.A funeral Mass will be held Monday April 28, 2025 3:00 pm at St. Barbara Church, 4042 Turkeyfoot Road, Erlanger, KY 41018 at 3:00 p.m., followed immediately by a burial at Mother of God Cemetery, 3125 Madison Ave, Latonia, KY 41015.In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to: BreakthroughT1D, formerly JDRF, P.O. Box 5042, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5042.Bernadette touched so many lives with her generous heart and joyful soul. She will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved
