Evelyn Seeger

Evelyn Lucille (Frost) Seeger, 88, died peacefully Monday, March 30, at the Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Covington, Ky., to Edward and Alvina (Thoss) Frost, and attended Sacred Heart grade school in Bellevue and Notre Dame Academy in Covington. She and the late Richard Seeger were married Sept. 25, 1946, at Sacred Heart Church. Their family, which grew to include seven children, lived in Bellevue before settling in Villa Hills. Mrs. Seeger was a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs, a member with her husband of the church’s Happy Timer’s club, and an active volunteer who received the Bob Noll award for her efforts. Her Catholic faith inspired pilgrimages to Medjugorje and Rome. She worked at the IRS processing center in Covington. A talented artist and craftsperson, she took art classes at the Baker Hunt center. She decorated her home and gifted others with her paintings, needlepoint projects, embroidery, beaded rosaries and handmade Christmas ornaments. She doted on her dogs Frosty and Alex, and cat Anna Marie. Her loved ones remember her presence at their many graduations, weddings, baby showers, First Communions, scouting ceremonies, soccer games, birthday parties and other events. She loved the chaos of big family Thanksgivings and Christmases at her home. Mrs. Seeger was preceded in death by her husband Richard, Sept. 23, 2003, and daughter Judy Benken (Jim), March 20, 2004. She is beloved by children Chris Haddad (Joe), Ric, Tom (Rose), Dave (Alice), Fran Mando (Jeff), and Jeff (Melissa); sister Shirley Poston (the late James); brothers Jim (the late Pat), John (Jane) and Bill (Sharon) Frost; grandchildren Jennifer Langen (Dave); Rebecca Bowen (Matt); Diane Haddad (Greg); Jill Doyle (Bill); James Benken (Laura); Tom Jr. and Ed (Becky) Seeger; David Jr. (Vanessa), Ryan and Laurie Seeger; Meghan, Missy, Molly and Matthias Mando; and Jake Seeger; and great-grandchildren Louis and Jack Langen; Eva and Alex Bowen; Leo and Norah Birkmeyer; Grant, Grace and Gabriella Doyle; Ava and Leah Benken; and Ben and Ella Seeger; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Linnemann Funeral Family Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Mass will be held the following day April 7, 2015 at 10 AM with burial to follow St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, KY.
