Phyllis Ann Franzen

Obituary
Condolences

Phyllis Ann Franzen, 67, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on January 31, 2025. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 3, 1957, to Ralph and Lilly (Begley) Stewart.

Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend who cherished the simple joys in life like singing and dancing. She was known for her jokes, sense of humor and love of snacks; especially taco-flavored Doritos, and could be found enjoying them while watching her favorite TV shows, horror movies, or Korean films.

A woman with a deep appreciation for the little things, Phyllis adored the color purple and always looked forward to her favorite meal of chicken and dumplings. Above all, Christmas held a special place in her heart. It was a time when she could gather with her family and create lasting memories with her loved ones.

Phyllis was predeceased by her father, Ralph Stewart; sister-in-law, Donna Stewart; and nephew, Matthew Stewart. She is survived by her mother, Lilly (Begley) Stewart; brothers Ronald Stewart (Fe) and Victor Stewart (Flocer); sister Brenda Varney; her children, David McDaniel and Sophia McAfee (Joseph); grandchildren Addison and Maverick McAfee; and her aunt, Jessie Begley. She is also survived by nieces Kristina Willoughby (Malcolm), Jordan Voges (Justin), and Michelle Daniels (Brian), along with three great-nieces, two great-nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.

Phyllis will be remembered for her loving heart, vibrant spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5-7:00 p.m. with funeral service on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.; both at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery.
