Obituary
Condolences

Mary Jones, beloved wife, sister, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 19, 2025, after a short stay at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was 70 years old.

She was born in Hinton, West Virginia and later moved to Northern Kentucky where she graduated from Dixie High School.

Mary worked for over 40 years with Avis Rent-A-Car at the Cincinnati Airport. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for her family and friends.

Mary was a great cook. She was also a nurturing and kind-hearted person who cared deeply for others, especially her stepchildren, whom she embraced as her own from the moment they entered her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, William “Gary” Jones; her siblings, Martha (late, Tom) Mann, Bill (Cathy) Hanifin, and Jean MacKenzie; her three stepchildren, Kimberly Vanderpool, William “Gary” Jones Jr., and Sherri Lynn Fallon; her grandchildren, Bailey (Mallory) Vanderpool, and Kendall Vanderpool; her great-grandson, Ronin Vanderpool, and her nephews, Brad (Lauren) Mann, and Kyle (Chrissy) Mann.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Elizabeth Hanifin.

Donations can be made in Mary’s name to the ALS Association in her honor.

Mary’s kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I love you Mimi

It’s so hard to say goodbye but now I know you’re in a better place. Thank you for all the memories we made and your amazing cooking when I come over to spend the night. I’m gonna miss you so much ❤️

My Best Griend

Mary and I were great friends and I’ll surely miss her. We did all sorts of fun things while in high school – we explored music, smoked cigarettes and Mary even pierced my ears using ice and a big safety pin. She was the best. 😘
