A Great Person

I taught Connor/Katrien religion at VMA in 2007/2008. They were intelligent, creative, and a great person. I’m so sorry they died so young. Mr and Mrs Davern, I’m truly sorry. Quinton Jefferson

The world lost an amazing person

I met you as Connor, and we clicked right away. It was like we had been friends our whole lives. We told each other everything, and then discovered how similar we were in just about every way. You were my clone, and we would laugh about it. I don’t believe in past lives, but if I did I’d say you and I were possibly twins or even the same person, and our soul was torn apart in this life.

We used to joke that you could change your name to John Connor like in The Terminator 🙂 You’d wanted to change your name for so long. I am so glad you were finally able to do that. Katrien fit you well. You were so beautiful inside and out.

I loved our Skype calls and showing you my rats. We’d talk for 10 hours a day sometimes, and you always played in my game of Titanfall… even though I was terrible and we always lost. You made me a song once (I still have all of your old songs and videos saved!) You wrote me a story. I wrote you one too. I drew you a portrait and a comic about the heist we had planned.

You were so smart, passionate, and fierce. You jumped into things two feet first and didn’t look back. You were kind and fun to be around. You touched my life in a profound way, and I will never ever forget you. I am so lucky to have so many hours of our conversations recorded to play back, and all of our chats to reread. It helps me to feel like you’re still here and we’re just hanging out.

I am so sorry for your pain. You were brave to hang on to life for as long as you did. I hope you have finally found peace on the other side. And if you’re a ghost somewhere, feel free to come back and haunt me. I’ll get a big kick out of that. 🙂 I can’t tell you how much I am going to miss you. There are no words. But if you’re out there somewhere, I hope you can understand my heart.

Much love,
Inara

So sorry for your loss

Katie

Saddened to say farewell to an amazing person and coworker. I wish I had a chance to know you better outside of our work, but I appreciate the opportunity to have worked with you. Your perfectly timed sarcasm always came in clutch when I was feeling particularly grumpy about a work situation, ones where we usually were the only ones sent to deal with it. I could always depend on your support no matter what.

Rest in peace, and see you on the other side.

Ian T

Deepest condolences

Dawn and Tony and family, We are broken hearted for the loss of your child and the intense pain you are experiencing. We love you and are lifting you up in deepest prayer to our loving Father to give you the strength you need to cope with this loss. Jesus please wrap your arms around them and comfort them. Give them a peace that passes all understanding. Amen

My Deepest Condolences

Although we never met in person, I really enjoyed the time I spent with Katie. We shared many laughs and good times and I always admired the fearlessness of her spirit. I cherish these words from Tolkien and I hope they find a place for someone who needs them:

“In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! We are not bound forever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory.”

With love, Alex / VeryYes

Katie

Such a sweet soul you will truly be missed work isn’t the same without you

Thoughts and prayers

Katie,
You were such a sweet, beautiful and kind person to work with. I’m so happy I got to meet you. You always started a convo with me in the breakroom. You will be missed by the costco family

Deeply sadden

Kat,
Very sad to see you move into the next plane of existence. May you feel peace and settled wherever you are.

Lord help this grieving family

One can never know the true why, only God knows. My prayers go out to Connor/Kat’s family, as they are suffering so. Please help those loved ones left behind, this loss is gut wrenching. May he/her soul be at rest, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You were loved and will be missed

I have known the Daverns for a long time. I remember meeting Connor when he was just a baby. I watched Connor grow, talked to Connor many times. He loved his dog Chester. Years went by and Connor said he felt better as Katie. She still was there. Independent but caring. Deeply concerned about her life. So many friends cared for Katie…..including Mom and Dad, family, and as well my wife and I. Rest in peace.

I’ll see you star side friend

I will never forget the day I met you, I was scrolling through a LFG and looking for someone to play with. Little did I know I made another friend for life that day. You always knew how to get a laugh out of me and boy oh boy did we argue, but I didn’t love you any less. You always said what you were thinking and brave enough to hold your ground after saying it.

You’re always our brave faction leader and I will never turn my back to New Monarchy because of you. I love you Katie, I really wished I could of showed you New Zealand and Met you in person. I really miss you, please come back. Love Rob

Cherished friend, Katrien

Truly devastated to say goodbye to my sweet friend, my sis, Katrien. She is so kind and supportive, loving, the most wonderful friend. I’m so lucky to know and love her over the years, having been there for each other through it all. I’m most thankful for the times we had in recent months, and will keep those wonderful memories the rest of my days. Life isn’t right without her <3

Saddened

We are shocked and saddened by this news, our deepest condolences go to Tony and Dawn and the whole family. John and loreen Studley

A beautiful being

I went to NKU with Katrien back in the day. We became fast friends who could be goofy and giggly throughout our school days. She was always supportive and kind. Her, I and our mutual friend Cally quickly became a trio on campus. It wasn’t easy for me to meet like minded people at NKU but she was and her friendship was so easy and loving. She left an impact on my soul and I send love to the others she impacted as well as they grieve this devastating loss.

You were my best friend.

Kat, I loved you so so so much. You were the closest friend I’d ever had and I will NEVER forget all the times you made me smile and laugh. You never failed to cheer me up when I needed it and you always knew just what to say. I loved your music, it was so expressive and heavy. I loved your poems, they were full of emotion and beauty. We watched movies and shows together and that was the most fun I’ve had in a while. You changed my life for the better. You showed me what it was truly like to have a best friend. I will never forget you or the memories we made together. I love you Kat. -Tess
