Terence “Terry” A. Nyquist

Terence “Terry” A. Nyquist, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Boonespring in Union, KY. He was a graduate of the University of North Dakota.

With a career spanning over 40 years, Terry began his journey as an airline pilot with Comair, later flew with US Air, and ultimately retired from American Airlines.

Terry was an avid college football fan, with a special fondness for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was also a dedicated follower of motorsports, with a particular love for Formula 1 and Indy Car. He loved his cats and treated them like their children; he found solace and creativity in the kitchen. Cooking was more than a hobby for Terry—it was a passion, and he often mused that if he hadn’t become a pilot, he would have pursued a career as a chef.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Nyquist.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jennifer Nyquist; mother, Rose Nyquist; siblings: Carol Lee Olsen (Dennis), Paul Nyquist (Cheryl), Roslyn Sieh (Joel) and Wendy Sherman (Mike); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as good friends who were like brothers.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the time of funeral service, 3:00 PM at Linnemann Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005.
