,

A Great Man

Rich Marsan was a member of a gym in South Florida where I worked and had the pleasure of getting to know him over the last two years. I completely beside myself to hear of his passing and am sending blessings to his loved ones. “Uncle Riccardo” was a devout Christian and completely adored his family. The love he had for his wife and kids was immeasurable. To Sarah, Jason, and “The Marine” as he would say, he could not have been prouder of each one of you and constantly spoke so highly of each one of you. To his wife (“Mama” as he would call you), his mission was to make sure you felt loved and protected at all times and always mentioned how much of a fantastic mother you are to Jason. His humor brought joy and life everywhere he went. We would talk for hours-his wisdom and mentorship has made such an impact on my life as well as everyone else who had the pleasure of knowing him. I hope one day to become like the man he was. He will be deeply missed!

My condolences

I am deeply saddened to hear about Richard’s passing and I will cherish my memories of him forever. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. My thoughts are with you and your family during this trying time.

So sorry for your loss

I just found out about this terrible news. I worked quite a bit with Rich at Duke. I enjoyed every minute. I learned a lot from Rich, he always pushed me to be my best. I offer my sincere condolences, he was a great man and friend.

My condolences

I was just made aware of this. I worked with Rich at Duke. He was so enjoyable. Always with a smile and a funny thing to say. He was an encourager and had a big heart. May we all find good memories of him and learn how to be a better friend and human because of him. My blessings to the family.
Chuck Whitlock

Sharing our loss Edda Mario Meneghel

The sudden death of Richard have shaken all of us. My first instinct was to reach the children. With Laura’s help, I was able to contact Sarah and Tyler, while they were driving to KC. From then on, Sarah kept in touch, so I could share their pain, express my love and confort them.
Jackie I didn’t know how to reach you and Jason. There are no words to express my feelings for you and your son during this difficult time. I don’t know if you are aware, Richard called me twice expressing his concern about my fight with cancer, and up-dating me with the last news about the family. He was very proud of Jason’s accomplishments.
Jackie, Richard is constantly in my prayers and, strange as it might be, I feel he is very close to me. I know he is in good hands. Jesus never fails me!
Spiritually, Gino and I will be with you saying goodbye to our dear nephew.
The best thing to remember Richard is for all the MARSAN to stay close together and love each other,
Yours,
Zia Edda & Zio Gino

Boss

Rich I’m truly saddened by this news. You were my boss at Duke but first and foremost you were a friend . Godspeed my brother.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO THE FAMILY

I worked with Rich at the KC office. I loved hearing his stories of his adored family. Rich shared on Halloween years ago he had taken his children out trick or treating and their costumes were so adorable instead of passing out candy everyone was giving them money. A cute story.
Rich will be missed. Praying for the family at this difficult time.

New Friend

Richard would talk to us while our group of 3-4 worked on jigsaw puzzles. I miss our conversations, he was such an interesting man. I saw him while walking, the day before he died and we exchanged pleasantries. Sincerely, Sandy Johnson

Dr. Marsan

Rich was a work colleague of mine. He was always a positive and full of life person when he visited us. I always walked away from talking with Rich with a smile and we usually talked more about families and life than work and noticed his passion and love of his family and hobbies.
Rich was very intelligent man and would bring his various work backgrounds and experience to every project we worked with him on, which always improved the performance of the project we were doing. He always brought the working man’s perspective on things.

I am going to miss Rich, my friend, as I always looked forward to seeing him when he came into town and seeing what had transpired in his life experiences, especially what he was doing with his home life and family.

Our condolences

Dear Jacqueline and Jason,

We are so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. We remember him fondly, especially working on the beach together to clear the way for the native grasses. Our group effort made a lasting impact: protecting the seaside in Pompano Beach. Richard was hard working, smart, funny, always willing to pitch in to improve our neighborhood, and completely devoted to the two of you.

We are so sorry for your loss and offer you our condolences. We pray that our stewardship of God’s creation will stand as a lasting legacy to Richard’s spirit.

With love,

Heidi Steen and Ken Stocker

A Fond Farewell

Over the past several years, I spent time working & traveling with Rich and always enjoyed it. He loved his family very much, and he was extremely proud of his children. To be sure, he will be missed. May his gentle outlook live on through them.

Sending caring thoughts your way

I was so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. I remember Richard visiting our family when I was a child and although I never got to know him as an adult, he sounds like the kind of person I would have really connected with. May happy memories of Richard bring you comfort. I am thinking of all of you and send you caring thoughts.

Goodbye Uncle Richardo…..

Rich, I miss you brother. I miss your positive attitude, your kind words and giving nature. I will cherish the long talks, the dinners, the car rides to customers. Traveling with you for the last 8 years has been a pleasure that I will not soon forget. I love you brother

To Sarah, Tyler and Jason, words cannot express the sorrow that I feel for you dealing with the loss of your father. I can say this with 100% confidence that there was never a time that I traveled with Rich that he did not talk about all three of you and how proud of you he is and how much he loves you all.

I pray a blessing of healing and comfort and over the entire Marsan family. God bless you all.

With love,

Donnie
