Remembering Pat and his time with the Southern Gateway Chorus

My name is Larry Findlay. I am a long- time member of the Southern Gateway Chorus and a very close “brother in song and acting” when Pat was so involved with the chorus. I, and many others, were beneficiaries of his talents, not only musically, but in particular, his ability in writing scripts for very successful shows which he helped to produce. I was the narrator for many of those shows and forever grateful for Pats input into those performances. He and Ron Riegler and others were responsible for promoting the entertaining image that SGC has been known for after all these years. The chorus is forever indebted to Pat for all he accomplished while a member! I am so sorry that I was not able to attend the celebration of his life and offer my (our) condolences in person. Pat was such a good person to know, and we were privileged to know him!

The Heavenly Choir Gets a New Member

Pat was a dear dear friend and will be missed like crazy. He was a brother in every respect and we enjoyed a lot of wonderful musical adventures together. He devoted his life to his Lord and his family and his musical influence will live on through his grandchildren. Counting my blessings for God allowing me to have him as a friend. Love you Pat! Can’t wait to sing with you again someday in the heavenly choir!

So sorry….

to hear this and my prayers go out to Aliene, Fran and Scott.

Such a trailblazer in the eyes of his young nephew as I would watch and listen to conversations at Grandmas house around the dining room table for many years (Scott was usually under the table for some reason). Mumsie and Madelyn had a great sense of humor but at the end of the day, it was Pat who brought everyone together with his great comedic and loving character. Nobody could escape laughter when Uncle Pat was around.

Uncle Pat was such an influence to me with his musical and stage talent as well, seeing his live shows as a kid was something out of this world for me. Uncle Pat was a true giver as everyone knows.

Pat made us all laugh, but most importantly is how he influenced us all in how to be a great husband, father, great grandfather and a great great grandfather. So lucky to have spent time with this guy and can only imagine the heavens welcome from our family preceding him.

Dave

Uncle Pat

Dear Scott, Aliene and Fran my deepest condolences. He will be deeply missed. He always made you laugh, great singer, actor and playwriter. Last year, I invited him to mother’s birthday party and he came. So glad. I got the nicest hug I will always treasure. Great memories that will last. Truly sad he is gone. Marcia his Niece

UBC Coffee Club

Pat was a long-time member of the Union Baptist Church Coffee Club. Each Monday morning he would listen to the lesson and discussion, and after everyone else had spoken, he would share his knowledge, wisdom and opinion, always with a great sense of humor. We will miss him greatly, but we will meet again!
