Prentiss Yates, born November 20, 1940, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024. He was 83 years old.

A man of faith, Prentiss was a devoted member of Fairway Christian Church in The Villages, Florida, for 25 years.

A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army for 20 years and retired as a major.

Prentiss had many interests. He was a real estate investor and mentor, an avid golfer, a world traveler, and a classic car enthusiast. He loved to play euchre and eat Skyline chili with his friends and family. Prentiss loved his family and showed it through homemade gifts, affectionate nicknames, and funny stories.

Prentiss loved Myra, his wife of 38 years. He is also survived by his six daughters: Betsy Franklin, Lisa Sweasy, Dottie Schwartz, Sandy Donlin, Shelley Donlin, and Bonnie Wynn. He will also be missed by his four sons-in-law, his ten grandchildren, and his thirteen great grandchildren.

A visitation for Prentiss will be held on July 1, 2024 from 9:00am-12:00pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY. A service will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00pm.

Military burial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Missing you

How does one say good=bye. I will miss you, actually I miss you already. You were my go to when I had questions and you always gave me the right answer even if I didn’t like your answer. Well just so you know that I still talk to you with questions and you still give me answers. You have left a heavy heart on alot of people and we all miss you, especially on Friday nights for dinner. Take care my friend and we will talk soon. I miss you alot. Love ya Joann H
