Natalie Elizabeth Neufelder
Natalie Elizabeth (Stautberg) Neufelder, 88, passed away on April 4, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born on December 14, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to parents Edward Charles Stautberg and Mary Gertrude (Quinn) Stautberg. Natalie, known as “Sis” to her family, was the second of six children. Natalie was a graduate of the Academy Notre Dame of Providence in Newport, Kentucky.
Natalie married the love of her life, Frederick Paul Neufelder, known to his friends and family as “Ted”, on July 6, 1957. They were married for 61 years before Ted preceded her in death. They began their life together in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and spent extensive time in Louisville, Kentucky, and Fort Branch, Indiana, before retiring to The Villages, Florida. During these years, Natalie and Ted raised six children.
Natalie loved, and was loved by, her family and friends. She was a woman of great intelligence, faith, courage, and optimism who had a wonderful smile. She had an artistic flair that she brought to her hobbies of sewing, cake decorating, gardening, travel, and painting. Natalie was a parishioner of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Union, Kentucky. Natalie volunteered with multiple organizations over the years and was recognized by The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation as an Honorary Member for her important contributions to the Hospital Auxiliary. Natalie was also a clown named “Jellybean” who entertained children in schools and hospitals who visited the Orlando, Florida area and The Villages.
Natalie is survived by her six children and their spouses: Daniel E. Neufelder (Jane) of Fishers, IN; Jan F. Neufelder (Anita) of Alexandria, KY; Catherine M. Musgrave (Joseph) of Union, KY; Thomas J. Neufelder (Ann Marie) of Bluffton, SC; Donald J. Neufelder (Erin) of Longboat Key, FL; and Sharon R. Lockard (Steve) of Evansville, IN. Natalie is survived by fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Natalie is survived by her siblings and in-laws: Robert Stautberg, Mary Ann Lang, James Stautberg (Anita), Rose Hengehold (Roger), Patricia Stautberg, and Daniel A. Neufelder (Jane). She was preceded in death by brother Joseph Stautberg, husband of Patricia, in-law Robert Lang, husband of Mary Ann, and in-law Nancy Stautberg, wife of Robert Stautberg.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Union, Kentucky on May 10, 2024. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by Mass at 1:00 p.m. and a luncheon will follow. A private burial service for family members will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, Kentucky following the luncheon.
