Donald L. Beck
Donald L. Beck, 85, of Edgewood, KY, passed away at home with family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his residence.
In his younger years, Don had a successful 25-year career in appliance sales for Sears before retiring. Don was an avid golfer and upon retirement he worked between Boone Links Golf Course and Lassing Pointe Golf Courses. He enjoyed nearly 30 years of working and golfing there and made many life-long friends on the course.
He was a family man who loved attending his kid’s events, then later he also enjoyed his grandsons’ many baseball, basketball, lacrosse and football games. You could usually find Don cheering on his favorite teams, especially UK basketball and the Cincinnati Bengals. In his free time, he loved tinkering with his cars, tractors or anything mechanical. If anything needed fixed, he could do it!
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Beck; his parents, Walter and Leona Beck; brother, Walter Joseph Beck, Jr.; and sister, Shirley Hoffman.
He is survived by his loving children, Stephen (Beverly) Beck and Krista Beck Stanfield; grandchildren, Brandon, Evan and Cameron Beck, Blake Bowmann, Chase and Trey Stanfield; 6 nieces and nephews; as well as his many golf buddies and Newport Catholic lunch friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian burial, 12:00 pm at St. Pius X Church, 348 Dudley Rd., Edgewood, KY 41017. Following the mass, there will be a luncheon at the White House Event Center in President’s Park, 283 Dudley Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
