Pastor Clifford Miller

Pastor Clifford R. Miller Jr., 87, of Florence, KY, formerly of Lewistown, PA, entered into eternal life at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY on Friday, November 13, 2015. Pastor Miller devoted his life to ministry. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Crestview Hills, KY; he was pastor at Port Royal Lutheran Parish in Port Royal and Nook, PA (1951-1957), mission developer and pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rockville, MD (1957-1961), pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, MD (1961-1968), associate pastor at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover, PA (1968-1979), pastor at First Lutheran Church in Findlay, OH (1979-1989) and a part time chaplain at Ohesson Manor for 15 years in Lewistown, PA. Pastor Miller was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Roswell Miller, Sr. and Louise Miller and his wife, Pauline Baker Miller (1988). He will be dearly missed by his children: C. Theodore (Lisa) Miller of Edgewood, KY and Julie (Thomas) Thompson of Ocean, NJ; grandchildren: Emily (Mike) Barker of Florence, KY, Timothy (Elizabeth) Miller of Montrose, NY, Karen (Walter) Fisher of Fort Wayne, IN, Alicia Thompson of Ocean, NJ, and Caroline Thompson of New York, NY; great-grandchildren: Miles Barker, Nova Miller and Troilus Miller; as well as many family members and friends. A memorial visitation will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Service to follow at 7:00 PM. A committal service will take place on December 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Nook, PA.
