Patrick Birrer

Patrick T. Birrer, MD, 59, of Villa Hills, KY, entered into eternal life on Monday, November 16, 2015 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs, KY. Patrick practiced emergency medicine from 1988-2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospitals and was the Medical Director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine from 2011-2015. He went on many mission trips, including Haiti, Honduras and Mexico among others where he provided medical care for the disadvantaged. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Mary Jo Birrer and their 4 children, Holly, Rachel, Kimmy, and Noah Birrer all of Villa Hills, KY. He also leaves behind his brother, Michael Birrer of Tucson, AZ and mother-in-law, Alean Saunders of Port Charlotte, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 20, 2015 at 7:00pm at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs, KY with a reception to follow. Burial will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any of the following: Hospice of St. Elizabeth, Notre Dame Academy or Covington Catholic High School.
