Cecilia Kathryn Smith
Cecilia Kathryn Smith (Nee: Stander), 91, of Florence, KY went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. She was born February 12, 1932 in Covington, KY to the late Charles and Rosa Stander. She was a proud life long member of St. Paul Church in Florence, KY. In her younger years she enjoyed working the church festival where she would cut the tomatoes for the sandwiches. Cecilia also enjoyed gambling at the Casino with her late husband and playing Bingo. When she was able, she was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing tennis and taking long walks. Cecilia was a loving and proud mother, grandmother, and great grandma. She always made her family her top priority, and she was always there for them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Smitty” Smith, her son, Phillip M. Smith, and her siblings: Charles J. Stander, Mary Ann Waymeyer, Rosemary Ross and Bro. Joseph W. Stander. Cecilia is survived by her loving children: Paul Smith and Linda Krill, her beloved grandchildren: Dena Smith, Nicole Smith, Matt Krill, Jennifer Smith, Adam Smith, Mara Krill-Ganim (Bryan), and Brian Smith, her cherished great-grandchildren: Kyiah, Jalynn, Avaya, Alayna, Brooks and Ariana. A visitation will be held for Cecilia on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 1:00 PM at St. Paul Church, 7301 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. She will be laid to rest following the Mass at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Church at the address listed above.

Heaven Gained Quite an Angel
Linda and Paul and the rest of the family, I am saddened to read of your mom’s passing. She was a great lady and I learned so much from her in the short 6 yrs we lived across the street. This picture has hung on my wall for over 20 years and not a season passes without warm memories or stories of The Smiths. Your dad used to laugh as he would watch out the window and see my daughter (pictured) bolt out of our house in her diaper, with me one step behind her, as she tried to go visit them (across the street!!). I tell the stories to her kids. Your mom always had Lil Hugs drinks for the kids when we visited. We all loved her. She used to have us over when it snowed and she’d sledride with us in their backyard. She’d always share her lemon cheesecake, coconut bonbons and Christmas wreath cinnamon rolls during the holidays. I made sure I stopped in whenever I was passing through the area after we moved, which wasn’t often enough. She taught me so much about service and volunteering and will never be forgotten. Sending much love and prayers for comfort for all of you. I know she is watching over all of you, especially the little ones.
